tpi distributor placement and any swap tips?
i spun a rod bearing and i'm swapping the motor in my trans am and i need to know how to put the distributor in the motor once it's in is it like putting a distributor in a normal small block? and are there any tips you guys might have for a novice to be swapping his first motor out and in an f-body and working on his first tpi?
I figured un plug everything pull this top end off and put this top end back on the new short block put back in and plug everything back in is there anything else i have to do? if you guys know of any sites that tell me or show me how to pull out and replace a tpi motor in my car? please help this is my daily driver and i hope to have the engine swap done in about 2 and a half days so any tips you have or like i said sites that tell and/or show me how to pull and replace the motor will help greatly. thanks for any and all information that you could possibly give me.

The distributor is installed just like in the old days.
The engine replacement is pretty much what you said. To make the going back together easier, take photos as you take things apart, using masking tape & a marker to identify things as you take them apart, use baggies and/or cans to keep fasteners & parts straight.

It's about a 50/50 thing. Unbolting the engine from the trans is a little difficult, but the engine alone is a little easier to handle on the hoist.
Are you using the 350 or the 305 heads? In other posts, you indicated you're using the 305 heads. Almost everything bolts to the heads, and what doesn't bolts to features that haven't changed on SBCs over the years.
