Kinda stupid but i need some info???
For a freind of mine i am taking their 1989 RS camaro v-6 5 speed that runs and drives perfectly but has been hit hard in the left rear quarter panel. We have considered replacin the panel but looks like a hell of a lot of work? Are we wrong?? But other wise i have a 90' RS Camaro 305(shattered number one piston) automatice. Our plan is to take the motor and trans out of the 89' and swap it into the 90" because of the perfectly straight body. Is this going to be more work than swapping the quarter panel out??? Thanks for any input on this

different kinds of work. if you don't wind body work, then replace the quarter. even if you don;t, i'd still replace it, but the thing is, you're going to have to swap EVERYTHING from the v6 car. and then when you're ready to fx the v8, you have to do it all over again. not worth it, imo.

This is a no-brainer. Don't even think about putting the V6 in the '90. Go ahead and fix the engine problem in the '90, but make it a 350 - don't do anything to the 305 but remove it.
Either sell the '89, or part it out. Fixing it would cost more than it's worth (unless you do all the bodywork yourself).

thats what i figured everyone would say, but see the 90 has already been stripped of motor and tranny like a year ago and quite a few parts have been sold...i was going to fix it but never got the time so i started to part it out and now my buddy wants to buy it and swap the stuff over instead of doin all the body work with replacin the quarter....i just wanted to know which would be the easier route to go...no matter what its either goin to get cut apart or we're gonna do the motor swap....thanks for the input
