L31 Vortec Engine into a 92 L03 RS

This weekend I will be taking delivery on a 92 Camaro RS with a L03 and 700R4. I have a Complete 5.7 Vortec in a wrecked 99 Chevy Express that I wanna put into the Camaro. What would I need to make the L31 work? And what fuel injection setup would be best?

I'll have more questions, when I remember them.

Certainly not the L31 induction.

Get a TBI intake for Vortec heads. Go to the TBI forum to see what needs to be done to make it work properly on a 350. Exhaust upgrades are in order, and you'll be doing some PROM tuning.

Fast355, Thats a really great Write up!

But I dont wanna mod the engine, I just want the Reliablity of the Vortec and it's power. If I were to drop the engine in and run it as stock, what kinda work will I have to do?

It will basically drop right in with a TBI-Vortec manifold. If you are in smog country and have to keep your EGR the GMPP intake is your only easy option. You will need larger injectors and a 350 knock sensor. You will also need a custom prom to make the combination run. To get all of the vortecs power, you will need to do something about the paper weight L03 exhaust system. It chokes a stock L03 305, much less a Vortec 350.

L31 is a great engine. I have one in my 1997 Silverado. I am considering buying an '84 T/a and building a 350 with an L31 as the clean slate.
