electronic questions

i have done some searching, but i havent been able to come up with anything. I just wanted to know if i do a big block swap, then do i have to do any modifications to the computer or wiring, my car is an 85 berlinetta, it originally came with the 305. it is carborated. A guy told me that the computer in the car wont work with a big block. what do i have to do to make the 454 work right when i put it in?

A while back I posed that question on the Carb forum with regard to my 396. The consensus was it could probably be made to work, but probably wouldn't be an optimum system.

Every member I can recall who has put a big block in their 3rd gen has gone old-school carb.

ok, thats cool. is there alot of work involved with going to an old school carb setup or is it just a matter of ripping all of the wiring out? I would actually prefer to go old school, but im not sure what i would need to do to make it happen.
