3.2 to 5.7 swap need help
The other threads were vague on what i needed to do but i need more details to picture it. I know i need new mounts, but am i going to have to move the actual mount. And what would be the estimated time for doing this swap because i have no other ride. Please if anyone has done this give me info in full detail.
Thank You

A V8 crossmember is one way to do it. I don't know which would take more time, doing the whole crossmember, or just changing the mounts to the forward holes. Probably a toss-up.
I assume you are asking how long the whole swap would take. The answer to that is, "Depends". As in, depends upon what level of swap you're doing, depends upon how well you have the parts lined up before you stop, depends upon your mechanical ability, etc. I started mine in mid-June, worked weeknights when I could and weekends when family responsibilities allowed, swapped out the entire dash & harnesses, had to figure out how to attach the '86 dash harness to the '82 rear chassis harness (they changed the connectors and # of wires between those years), open up the ECM harness pass-through connector hole (it was smaller for the '82 than the '86 connector), changed out the entire AC system, and moved the mounts to the front holes on the crossmember. I drove it for the first time in mid-August.

when I swapped in the (87)305 & matching (84)dash cluster/harness, in the (85)car, I didn't have an issue w/the rear tail light harness besides trying to connect it wrong for some reason.
Did the 91v6 cars not have the mounting hoels for v8 mounts???? if they did then I don't see why a new k-mbr would be needed.
If you have EVERYTHING needed for the v8 ready (key to a quick swap), and a couple of friends, I don't see why it would take more than a saturday to drop it in, and finish up on sunday.
