please help

Hey guys, I need some input, I have a 93z and a 87 v6 RS, I was going to put the LT1 in the 87, But now i'm back to wanting to build a carbed 383 for it. Anyone tell me how they like there lt1, only plans for LT1 were cam, heads. and injectors. What can i expect from this, as the car will mostly be a track car? If it helps its being mounted to a TH350. Thanks guys, I cant wait to get started on the project.

Welll, if your serious that its mostly a drag car, I'd probably go with the 383 and a carb, cause it's pretty cheap, simple, and easy to tweak.

I've seen lots of well prepared 383 stuff running in the 11s with 3500 lbs. Some faster.

Yep, no need to use an LT1 for a track car...

If you're gonna cruise for long distance though, it could be great...

Well it would be nice to drive around town once and a while, I'm just not sure what i can get more power out of? I don't wanna regret not doing to LT1 if its a stronger engine? any other input would be great.

Wide open throttle racing if tuned properly carb and FI are the same. The LT1 shines on the street with better part throttle responses to changes and cold starting. If its a track car, buid carb 383. Street car that sees track time LT1. Best of both worlds, 383 LT1.
