LT1 heads on a Gen 1 block

One of my coworkers has a 95 I believe alum. LT1 headed engine and i was interested in the heads a while back before i decided not to build an LT1 for my car due to all the trouble i hear you have to go through to get it in. I've had an 89' 350 out of a suburban for a while now and I decided to rebuild it. I'm getting ready to have someone do those 89' heads for me (rebuild, port, polish, etc) but my bud says those LT1 heads should work on a Gen 1 block. I wasn't sure about it because I've never seen it done but there's nothing that shouldnt make it work is there?

It will work. You have to TIG up some water jackets and then get it decked. It is alot of work, do a search. Someone here did it and included pictures.
