Where to find a Cheap 350ci

Where's the best place to find cheap 350's. I have heard the junkyard is a good plave to look but where I live the nearest one is at least a hour or more away driving. Any other suggestions. Or should i just buy a new crate engine.

how i used to snag up cheap engines and such was to leave notes on ppls doors where an old van or truck or car was sitting that i knew was sbc powered and looked like it had been parked for a while

most of the time i got them for dirt cheap, 50 or 100 bucks and ended up with alot of good engines and tranies this way

for several years, but not stuff is hard to find, everything here has been hauled to the shredder within the past couple years all of a sudden
too many jobless ppl with trailers around here

and scrap prices are way up

good luck

I notice you have a 3.1 engine. On the side it says you have a limited slip. What in the world makes you think you have a limited slip?

well to tell you the truth i am not sure which type of rear end i have. the only real reason i think it is a limited slip is because thats what my stepfather said it was i just sort of trusted him. I know its the stock rear end. I just don't know what type it is, or the gear ratio for that matter.

Not trying to rain on your parade but the V6 cars were all open differentials and not limited slip. If you were to do a burn out it would leave only one tire mark not two. Luckly the V6 rearends usually had better rear ratios than alot of V8's but still, you do not have a limited slip.

Get the 350 you are looking for before you worry about the rear end deal. I figure I would give you my two cents in it before someone with a worse attitude tried to kick you in the ***** for it.

Good luck.

you can find some on here cheap, also it depends on if you want two bolt or 4 bolt main. But i would make the trip if you were planing on doing a full rebuild, if not then maybe get a crate or find one on here.

I found one locally on ebay, but craigslist had plenty too.
Also look in your local newspaper.

You can probly find one at a junkyard for 2-300, 200 for bearings and gaskets if there is nothing else wrong with it and you have a reliable 350 if you build it right.
