What to do with spare parts??
I recently swapped out my 305 for a 350.
I pulled the heads, intake, plenum, runners, fuel rail, and distrubutor off my old engine. I had the heads checked and they are good. What I want to do is build a 350 for future use, and to learn about engine building.
The head casting number is 14101081. can they be used on a 350? i searched about this, and it seems like they are decent heads when worked on. Will I encounter any obstacles if I installed these on a 350? I wanna get a 350 shortblock or maybe a bare block with a rotating assembly and slap the spare top end that I have laying in my garage now. Any tips??

081's are pretty good heads. As you probably read, they do better with 1.94" intake valves, better valve springs, and the rocker studs either pinned or replaced with screw-in. Cutting the top of the valve guides for positive type stem seals has the double advantage of better seals, and more valve lift capability. Some port clean-up, especially in the area under the valves, also helps them perform better.
They will do well on a 350 in that condition. Since the combustion chambers are smaller than 350 heads, you'll want pistons with a dish on the top. Somewhere in the 12-20 cc range will do the trick, depending upon the head gasket you use, and how far down in the cylinder the pistons you get will be.
With your TPI, you'll need 22 lb injectors and 350 knock sensor and module.
