How much would you pay
for a 91 Iroc-z with a 427/5-speed? It'a a convertable and in need of TLC. Needs a new top, interior needs work, a few dings here and there. The engine is a 454 block with a 427 rotating assembly. The bad thing is it won't pass emissions the way it's set up right now. It may be a big challenge to get it to pass emissions.

Wow, that sounds like a project that got away from somebody. If the 5-speed is a factory 3rd gen 5-speed, it'll last about 5 seconds after the first time you open up that big block. If they open the hood for emissions, you're toast. It would have to be registered off-road or some other special use way if that's the case. If all they do is look for a cat and sniff it, you might be able to sneak it through.
You can be sure that the car would cost more to get into shape than you could ever sell it for. So, unless this is a labor of love, pass on it and look for a better candidate.
A couple thousand wouldn't be an unreasonable offer for it. If the seller whines about that, well, see the paragraph above.

First question, is this car in Michgan? I looked at one with like the same setup and everything like a month ago!
But yeah $2k would definately be tops, especially if you have to get it through emmissions after you buy it!
Get some pictures of it on here if you can!
