89 Camaro RS 5 speed manual Trans
I've purchased an 89 camaro RS with a 2.8 5speed manual trans in it, Will a 350 smallblock bolt up to this trans? Also I'd like to swap the 2.8 out for a beefy 350 with an old HEI distributor & non computer carb, I've read so many articles saying there's alot to be done for this job and others saying it's mainly changing radiator, motor mounts and heavier springs to handle the added weight of the 350. Could anybody please help me answer these questions that has actually done the 2.8 to 350 swap in an 89RS?!!?!?!?

I have helped others do your swap; mine were Buick and Olds 350 swaps so I can't help you much with 89 rs specifics.
However, I will shower you with my limited knowledge.
1. Read the sticky written by five7kid. He is VERY thorough and did not leave anything out. What he says is what you need to do to accomplish a factory style swap with limited fabrication.
2. Your transmission is a no-go. It won't bolt up with your bellhousing and if you switch to a V8 bellhousing it still won't work because it uses a smaller input shaft with different spline count. If you use a particularly special clutch disc to make it work anyway it will break soon after due to the weaker internal parts used in the V6 T-5.
3. You can accomplish your swap the easiest by buying another V8 third gen to use as a template for your swap. If you can find a wrecked one or one with no title that's just for parts then you are doing well. Otherwise buy a V8 car and sell yours. That's the best way as budgets go without using a wrecked car for parts.
