CAN IT BE DONE?

Hello to all...

I'm thinking of dropping a L99 (1996) and 4L60-E into a 1955 Bel Air Sport Coupe. I'm getting a good deal on the M/T but will do some mild mods to it trying to get it up to about 260hp

The '55 was orginally a V8 265cid (currently empty well) how will the L99 bolt up? How much headache am I looking at?

I figured rather than building a carbed SBC I'd go for some comfort, smoothness and fuel economy rather than neck snap.

Any discussion will be appreciated.

Well I hope I didn't upset you all with a question about your car's Grandaddy. But I figured since the question did have to do with a "Baby" LT and the Forum Topic is titled ENGINE SWAP, I thought maybe some member possibly would have an idea of what I'd be facing.

And yeah, anything is possible. But I guess since you threw on the Pad Lock, I'll never know.

well, since we are still here, the l99 is a vortec motor right? i believe that you need different motormounts and the transmission mount will probably have to be moved, you need the computer and harness with the motor to make things run.

The forum is "Engine Swap", but the site is for thirdgen Camaros and Firebirds only, sorry.
