New Engine
New Engine
Ok, had a 350 installed. The engine is a 1970 block. totally rebuilt. Has a .50 cam, edlebrook intake, holley 650 carb, hooker 2460 shorty headers, 3 inch hi flow cat to flowmasters, accel vac dist., vac canister for brakes, open element. Going to stock 700r with stock stall converter. I have driven 350s in the past. It is fast, but I cant hit the gas and spin like an old Lemans I had. In fact it doesnt spin it just goes. It does idle a 500 but I was told this was due to cam. Any ideas or is this because on rear end size? It is a 87 Formula. No smog stuff. Around here they only check for cat.

Re: New Engine
By .50 i take it you mean .500 lift, and that would explain the no torque right their, you need gears and a higher stall convertor in order to get your motor to spin up into its torque curve and get a better (or worse ie: spinning tires) launch. If you don't want to get lower gears and such you need to run a smaller cam.
