Re: power steering v-6 to v-8

I'm not sure if its the same but I know that some of the ws6 or z28's had quick ratio boxes that makes the wheel turns shorter for the same turn. If you go to no power steering you need to replace the steering box, its not the same as the power box.

Non power steering is fine going down the road, but turning in the parking lot you will need some strength. Depending on your wheel size of course.

It may be easier to go to a GM dealer and see if the parts are the same between a v6 car and a non WS6 or Z28 V8 car.

Steering gears are the same (although some "better" ones came on some V8 cars, as mentioned). Pumps are the same. Reservoir, pulleys, brackets, and hoses are different.
