ok i have been looking for these answers and im starting to get a head ache so i figured i just ask and hope to get some answers.
ok my questions are as follows:
will a th700r4 bolt up to a (73) pontiac 400 block? if not, can and where do i get a bell housing for it?
will a turbo 400 bolt up to a (73) pontiac 400 block? if not, can and where do i get a bell housing to fit?
i have the TPI off of a 88 T/A, will the TPI manifold fit onto the 73 pontiac 400 heads? If not what heads will it fit?
What else would i need to put the 73 pontiac 400 block in an 88 T/A (305 currently)?

and one other question, how hard is it to find parts for a digital dash on a 88 T/A?

any answers or tips are greatly appreceated

 

Summit has a bell housing adapter that should work. If the 2 trannys you mentioned are Chevy, and you want to bolt it to a PMD engine, check out part # TRD-0061. If vice versa, TRD-0060. There are probably other vendors for these, but Summit is a good place to start.

As far as the TPI, it won't bolt up to a PMD 400 if it came off a Chevy engine. There is a thread at the top of this forum that talks about swapping PMDs into our cars. It should be able to answer your questions. I haven't read it so I don't know.
