I bought a 305 car without motor or tranny...so the convert for me was really quite easy, since I didn't have everything I went carb. I guess the hardest part was the wiring, removing the computer and excess wiring still keeping good grounds and such, other than that direct bolt in...

cuz i got a tpi, i was thinking about going to another tpi...my dads been a mechanic for about 30 years, a gm mechanic for about 20...he remembers working on these cars and pulling motors, says that its easy...but i mean, an easy 20 minute job for him is a hard 2 week job for me lol

You take out the engine, move what you need from the one coming out to the one going in, and hook it all back up again.
305 coming out and 350 going back in has very little to do with it. The first few years of TPI hardly even care that the displacement changed.
