The fun begins...

Madness more then anything. Why i pulled my perfectly good running 350TPI out for a 355 carbed motor? Maybe im crazy. But ive been wanting to pull this motor for a long time. You just get bored with stuff i guess. Just took some pictures from the garage. The plans:

Rewire pretty much the whole car, both wiring harnesses gutting what i dont need and re-routing what i do need. Got rid of Heat, so im planning on welding up all the holes and smoothing everything out. Also going to weld up all the holes on the wheel wells/frame rails/firewall ect. Going to re-paint it all white. Right now im debating throwing down $500 on a tubular k-member or not. Already got some tubular a-arms and adjustable camber/caster plates. May get the brakes over the winter but not sure yet. Interior is getting a custom autometer gauge setup, suspension is for most part staying the same. I hope i can drop another 100lbs off the car during the swap. Id like to get the car under 3100lbs without me.

I went carb because its:
-Cheaper
-More power(easier to make at least)
-Simplicity
-Spring/Summer Only
-Its a weekend/track/show car only so it doesn't get driven everyday.

I have a 355 longblock i bought from a member on here...forged 355, splayed 4 bolt mains, H beam rods, 13.5 pistons, edel 58cc alum heads, schneider custom grind cam .577/.602 242/262 114 lsa, edel super victor, holley 750dp most likely. Motor is all forged, so i may juice it later down the road but i think i should just run it N/A and get a feel for that much power first. Hoping to put down 400-425rwhp. Running through the T56, im having that sent out for a rebuild, reverse is gone and 3rd gear syncro is weak...Going to run a 3" cowl, got some new z06 rims also so ill be on street tires. It should be fun... and a BIG learning experiance.

So anyway i got it all out tonight, it was my first time pulling a motor by myself so i feel somewhat accomplished, nothing got damaged which was a good thing! even myself made it out with only a couple scratches. lol.

Here are a few pictures:

Any suggestions/comments? Yeh or Neh on a tubular K-member?

-Steve
