Short Block Build up. What to do?

Hey guys I've got a few questions. I've got an 880 bare block (same used in the ZZ4 motor) at home and I think it's time to start throwing it together. I know that all the power lies in the heads, cam and intake but I want a short block that will withstand atleast 350 to 400 horses. What are some good yet not overpriced options for me? I would also like to hit it with alittle nitrous (125 shot maybe) What can I do? I'm more than likely going with some 170cc E-tec's and a good intake and cam to match it up for the top end.

Steel crank, most any aftermarket rod with ARP bolts, forged pistons.

Gap the rings for the shot.

Re: Short Block Build up. What to do?

if your goig to buy a need crank, get a stroker one, their a cheap up grae and then u can step up to the bigger heads and cam and not worry about drivablity, and the upgraded cam and heads wont be much more then the ones you are plannin on gettin now,
here are a few parts thatd id look at if i were buildin a SBC

then just a good dual plane manifold and i think ud be set
