Building a engine

Okay i have a 86 z28 tpi i want to take it out and put in a 355 but what i want to know is should i just take the computer out and make it carberated or should i run the tpi and if i run the tpi what should i do to the computer for the bigger engine and bigger cam?

There isn't anything in particular you need to do with the computer for the '86 model. You should change the injectors, knock sensor and knock sensor module for the 350 versions. Of course, computer tuning should improve the way it runs, but that would be true with the 305 as well. What do you mean by "bigger cam"?

Converting to carb will cost more than tuning TPI for 350. You'll lose more benefits than you'll gain performance. Unless this is intended to be a drag strip car, in which case carb might be the better choice.

well i am going to take it to the track a couple times but its mostly a street car and cam its going to be like a street/strip cam and should i use my 305 heads or should i use 350 heads and what about my mass air flow sensor do i have to change that

It's not going to cost more to switch to a carb. You may lose a little bit of tuneability and gas milage, but it isn't more exspensive all I did to my iroc was change the manifold to a carb style and a used q-jet and a fuel regulator and your off.

If you buy new, it is more expensive.

You didn't include the cost of getting the TCC lock-up to work - how did you do that?
