oil gauge

Hello all..... I put this in the tech board but have not got to many reply s.I have a 85 camaro that was a V6 and now has a V8 in it. I went from lights to gauges, the tach work great abut the oil and temp don't work. I took the green wire off the temp and put it to ground and the pointer went all the way up so I take it the gauge is ok. It's a new sending unit but have not checked if it is the right one or if just not working. The first oil gauge I had in was in with the tach and the pointer was up all the time,I checked it and the pointer would not move to good so I put in one other one I had that the pointer was more free. The pointer was about to 40# when I put it in and when I turned the key on it went all the way down like it should but with the motor running it just stays down. I put the tan wire to ground and the pointer did not move. I'm not sure if you can check it the same way as the temp. The oil sending is new too so not sure where to look from here.

the dash gauges in our cars werent built to last. There will be some fixing involed.

There is a company that fixes gauges. Its in DECEMBER 2007 issue of HOT ROD magazine towards the back there is an AD to fix all gauges. let me find the page number.....
