what all is need to do the swap, i have the motor, and tranny, the motor and tranny is coming out of my 98 s10....puttig in a lt1 in the s10 out of a 95 firebird....please help.

Here's the basic stuff...

You will need the PCM from your S10 if you want to use that setup along with the 4l60e transmission. You will need to swap on an f-body tailshaft to your transmission to hook up your torque arm. You can use V8 motor mounts but they will go in different holes in the frame.

There's a guy over on the syty.org board that put a Syclone engine into his firebird or camaro... He's got some info on there about that swap.
Look under the engine swap section on that message board. Maby you can contact him about the specifics.

I've done the LT1 into S-10 swap... I've got info about that.

 

It will be similar with engine mounts, but that's it. The 98 4.3 is a vortec engine with the same screwy problems that vortec V8s have. There really is no one bragging about running a vortec fuel system on their third gen. It appears to be quite the pain in the butt with no real performance advantage.

You could run an older 4.3 S10 TBI setup the easiest, but then you have to figure out the heads. If no one makes a 4.3 Vortec intake for carb or TBI, then you have to either modify an aluminum TBI S10 intake to fit, or run older 4.3 heads to match... If you run the TBI you could then get away with running an older V8 transmission.

 

yes i can use all the help i can get to do the swap on the lt1 to s10.... i have a 95 firebird that im pulling the motor, and trany out of, so yes any help would helpout alote....thank you.

i have to use the ecu from the s10 to run the gages and the other stuff inside the truck...and i have to use the ecu from the firebird....the camaro is my cousins car. we already swaped the seat from the firebird into the camaro....
