Engine Ground Wires
The Kids just had a 305TBI to 350 TBI Engine swap on my 85 Camaro and having some problems with it throwing a code 23. Every Sensor on the engine has been changed and a double check to ensure the right Sensors for the 350 where changed. I noticed today that there was only one ground wire coming from the firewall to the intake on the engine. I would swear there were at least two ground wires going somewhere to the engine on the 305. I'm sure that I read a thread that said you would have problems if the ground wires are not installed properly, but I can't find it. Looked all afternoon. Can anyone give me some input on this. The machanic said only one (1) is needed but I'm sure he's wrong. Anyone's help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Re: Engine Ground Wires
This is just me, personally, but I don't run the ground wire to the intake manifold. I run one large braided flat ground strap from the firewall to the back of one of the cylinder heads. There are bolt holes back there to bolt it to.
Next, I have my negative battery cable going to a GOOD ENGINE GROUND. I also prefer the back of the cylinder head above the starter, but many factory applications use the front of the head.
Last, I run another large ground wire from the negative battery terminal to the body, either on the fender or inner fenderwell, whatever is easiest. I run a big one, like the same size as the battery cable, but it does not need to be that big usually.
One thing is for sure; more grounding will not hurt anything!
Good luck!
