305 TBI to 350 TBI

I'm going from the stock '89 305 TBI to the http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_333336_-1

Vortec 350.

I want to go TBI with the Vortec.

I know I need:

1. Bigger Injectors
2. Intake manifold (Truck/SUV TBI intake?)
3. PROM tuning

Can you all fill in the blanks from here? 0.o

If you are going to do a swap you're going to want to get rid of the TBI. It's a really bad EFI system and they ditched it for a reason. If you wanna stay fuel injected I would suggest going TPI if not after-market.

Re: 305 TBI to 350 TBI

Well, the thing about that is I am keeping this vehicle emissions legal to the state of pennsylvania. That means, any emissions will have to match. Also, I need to stick with the TBI move because I'm a 21 year old who's on a tight budget. I'll be repainting, doing interior work, putting on rims & tires, and rebuilding a vortech to make the car a nice street ride. I'm not looking to make 500hp by any means, but I know TBI can make me a good 300. This motor originally shipped (with all smog equipment and dead breathing manifolds) at 255 horsepower. I know this is easily changeable.

As it stands the long block sits in the shed. Roller motor 9.4 compression, stock cam.

BIG QUESTION: Should I go get the SFI from a truck/suv etc (96-00) or try and hit the 620 CFM tbi? I'd love to shell out 1000$ for an EFI system but I can't.
Should I get the intake from them also?
I'm guessing I don't need the OBD2 that came standard since it's a GENI motor and I could refit.
What do I need from CFMTech since I have all the cores?
I will be going different cam.
After it's completed it will be going to a PROM tuning shop.
Any major needs and minor needs you could recommend?

Also the allure to me that the motor CAN be tuned and the fuel can be modified would be a funny thing. As we all know, most guys in my age group prefer 140-200hp tuner cars. Not many fast cars or anything that will push mid 14s in my area...just a lot of imported junk.
My goal is to take it to the emissions shop and have them think its a 305 TBI, because it will look identical.
Then I want some power where people are questioning the motor itself, also.

That's not true. It was the cost effective solution for the time with technology available at the time. TBI works just fine and can be repaired rather easily.

With respect to Vortec swap

You'll need the following:
TBI vortec intake manifold or alternatives are many...
exhaust manifold of vortec truck to plumb EGR valve. Vortec heads do not have cross over for EGR. Get all parts for EGR plumbing.
61 lb injectors (black - red)
ASDU calibration for 7747 ECM to start with.
