I know its not really third gen related but it will be going into one if it works out. I'm looking at a truck for sale, it's a 1981 c1500 (2wd) with a 5.7 350 (unknown #'s) and the guy sias it has a 4 spd manuals transmission, I have been looking everywhere to find out what kind of transmission it could be but i have had no luck so if anyone has a slight idea or knows that would be awsome. I think it might be a muncie 4 spd but i dunno...

It's most likely an SM465; that transmission is most often referred to as a 3 speed with granny low. There never was a normal street 4 speed trans like from a car that was put in those trucks. You could get 3 speeds, I've seen one 3 speed that had overdrive on the floor, and then the granny low transmissions.

Unless you plan to tow a 5,000 lbs camper or something with it.

I don't honestly think you could get it to fit! It is about 3 times the size physically of the T5!
