305 to 350 timing question
Hey guys im almost done with my swap from the 305 carb to my 350 carb, i had a question tho about the timeing. i used all the accesories from my 305 on the 350 including sensors.. what should the timeing be at, i kniow the 305 is 6 and the 350 is 8.. but i wanna make sure which i should put it at if either of them at all? and my check engine light is on... i didnt know this car had a computer any reasons u can think of why i would go on after a new swap... or is it cuz the timeings off?

Setting it at 6 or 8 would be a start, you can add more if the engine tolerates it.
What codes are being set by the check engine light?

Re: 305 to 350 timing question
It's similar, the paperclip goes in the top left two terminals in the ALDL connector under the dash and you turn the ignition to "on" (but not start). I don't know for sure if that'll work with an 83 though, some of the early computers were pretty crude.
