Vortec 350

I have a chance to buy a 96 pu 350 vortec block, heads to oil pan complete. I want make into 383. and using my tpi on this block with the vortec tpi intake. What do you guys think? Does this sound like a sweet deal and a good start to a build? Anything I need to know about doing this setup pro and cons?

Thanks, Jose V.

Re: Vortec 350

A TPI vortec would be sweet.. I dont think the stock tpi setup would handle the 383 to its full potential though but don't quote me on it. I would say definatley do it you can make 400hp easy with the roller block and vortec heads

Without a doubt you need to upgrade the TPI. The base would probably benefit from porting, you need shorter fatter runners, and ported plenum.

In fact, a Vortec-style Super Ram would probably be a better start.
