New Motor!
Hey everyone! Well...it's begun! I took the block to the shop yesterday and we haggled for about 3 hours over what I wanted in the engine...
Chevy 4-bolt block from a 95-00 Vortec Truck (WIll be align-honed and decked)
Scat cast crank
Scat Forged I-beam rods
Lunati Voodoo 60121 Roller Cam
Comp Cams Pro-Magnum Roller Rockers
World Products "Sportsman II" 64cc heads
Edelbrock Performer Intake (Wanted the RPM but research on the site here said it won't fit under the stock hood)
Hooker 2055 Headers (already on the car)
Sealed Power Hypereutectic pistons
I'm probably going to have to strengthen my rear-end (is this a 7.5" or 8.2" on an 84 T/A? How do I tell?) because I can't afford a 12-bolt or 9".
700R4 transmission
Aluminum Drive shaft
3.73 gears (stock on the car)
I'm thinking this is going to be a fun ride! Compression came out to about 9.4:1 on the computer. Desktop dyno says I should be right about 300hp and 400ft-lbs of torque. So what do you all think?

It's a 7.5" 10-bolt 26-spline rear end.
There's a tech article linked from the thirdgen.org homepage https://www.thirdgen.org/beefinguprear on beefing them up. Don't worry about the 7.5" vs. 7.625" thing - any gears or carrier you get will be 7.625" now. I just did two 10-bolts (only one installed currently).
The RPM intake will fit under the hood with a drop-base air cleaner. Are you sticking with the stock carb? If so, you'll need the spreadbore version of the RPM, which isn't available in the Air Gap version.

That may be true. The Performer does put the carb higher than stock, though.
