Car: 1990 Pontiac Firebird
Engine: 305 5.0 TBI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 2.73 Open Diff.
1990 305 TBI to 1993 350 TBI
hey i have a 1993 silverado 350 that i was thinking of switching with my firebird 305. the firebird and silverado are both TBI but the silverado has a 4l60 tranny and my firebird has a 700r4. what would i have to do to make this swap work and how much money should i be looking at spending on this?

Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Switching the engine is mostly straightforward. Switching the trannies is more involved.

Guess I should expound on the tranny comment. A '93 truck 4L60 should be the 4L60E, even though f-bodies didn't get them until '94. You need the PCM, or an aftermarket box, to run the "E" version.
