350 Intake Manifold question

Hey guys, first off I have the original LB9 305 in my camaro and it burns a nice amount of oil when I step on, i've replace the valve stems so I'm pretty sure the rings are getting worn out. She's got about 125,000 miles on her and I think it's about time to swap a sweet 350 in. Now, I've decided to keep the TPI set up and just burn a new chip for the 350 because I've heard such great things about the TPI systems. So a friend of mine said in order to keep my TPI+intake manifold, that I'd need to find a "newer" style 350 that has head bolts at the right angle in which they'd allow me to bolt my 1985 style tpi+manifold right up to the new 350.

I've done quite a bit of searching on the forum but couldn't find exactly this information(maybe I'm stupid and aren't searching the right words). So does anyone know what years or style of 350's should allow me to use my whole intake setup from '85?

thanks a ton!

Re: 350 Intake Manifold question

The difference in manifolds is attaching to the heads, but as long as you don't use vortec heads the bolt holes can be elongated, and made to fit. Try a test fit first, then work from there if it doesn't match.

As above.

To expound, it isn't the 350 that matters, it's the heads. What are you planning on putting in?

Re: 350 Intake Manifold question

ok i see, well I was debating whether to use my existing 305 heads for more compression or just get some new ones. Actually getting new ones for the 350 seems like the best idea. I've got a few 350 blocks I'm going to look at, but I'm not sure which model I'll be throwing in, or which heads exactly. But when I decided on one for sure, I'll post about it and do a test fit with what I have.

Thanks again guys!
