Re: What does it take to get to 500 rwhp...
11-12 to 1 compression
solid roller
all forged internals
rev to 7K
AFR 210 heads on 383 or 355
single plane intake or miniram ported should do it
will make 500whp.
A guy on vetteforum made 475 with a LT4 AFR 210 headed motor and a hydraulic roller that was like 230/236 at .050 but .620's lift
Thats similar to my 383 but with HSR and 195 heads and similar cam of 230/245 .603/.613 but i was only hoping for 400-420 whp.
couple other LT1 solid roller guys made 480-500whp n/a, some with 355's some with 383-396's. compression on them were also around 11-12. Peak power in the 6800-7000 rpm range
else get a mild 355 and add 7-10 psi boost
