intake to block matching

Hello I took out my blown 82 block last week which had a edelbrock intake manifold, switched it to a 89 Roller Block with the center bolt style valve covers, My question is am I able to use my older block intake manifold or am I going to need to find a new one before I even get to the point of attempting to bolt it up, thanks

Re: intake to block matching

The bolt holes have to be elongated.... there should be plenty of threads on it. It just takes a dremel or drill, and a steady hand.

Re: intake to block matching

the only difference is the angle of the center 2 bolt holes on either side of the intake, simply reangle/elongate them with a drill and use washers when bolting it down and you'll be fine.

With respect to the intake manifold, it's not the block that's different, it's the heads.

Thanks guys I am not used to this roller block situation and Ill try and drill them out now before spending a few extra bucks for a new intake manifold, but if anyone has a used edelbrock performer For Sale with no egr for my 89 Engine LMK as if its the right price and I dont have to mess with my current manifold that would be awesome

The roller block has nothing to do with the intake manifold.
