GMPP 350HO and MPG
Forgive the length in this.......I like car talk.....I hope you all do too.....
So I have a '72 Chevy C-10 SWB Fleet side. It came with a 307 2bl and three on the tree, and 3.73 12 bolt. the result= 13mpg. I replaced the tranny with a 3550 Tremec. the result=13 mpg. That motor had too many miles on it, and we had a 283 that was built for another project just lying around. radical cam double hump heads roller rockers single plain intake with 600 holley mallory ignition, sounded alot meaner than it ran.
the result of this combo was bad at idle but ultimatly= 13mpg.
Now, i'm running a GMPP 350HO with headers a summit intake, mallory unilte, 600 holley tremec3550 3.73gear flowmaster ect. sounds good runs great ect ect ect I love this set up. the result=13mpg
I don't want any opinons. I am real happy with the 350ho performance and price, I'm curious if anyone is running this crate motor, and if so what kind of MPG's are you getting with the 700r4, or a five speed in a third gen.

Re: GMPP 350HO and MPG
Thanks, I checked out your car's deatails. Looks like you have a very nice ride. I was hoping for an average of 18 with 20-22 on pure interstate. I have an old 283 in the bay right now. I might pull it before I even start it, but I may wait and see how it performs first. I'm trying to score a five speed, which will help the little motor pull that car.
