your opinion on v6-v8 swap
to start things off i have a 88 firebird that used to have a v6 mpfi 5-speed in it but the motor went to **** and i had planed on putting a 350 carbed in it. i have a long block 350 now and the bellhousing for the t5, but im finding out now what im really getting into. i have no donor car so im already having trouble with hardware and the motors not even in yet. i've done a bit of reasearch and have a list of parts that covers most of it but im not even quit sure its worth it anymore. could i get some feed back about this please. should i just go buy a 305 third gen and put this 350 in it(i want to keep it a standard) and sell my current one or should i go get a donor car and try to figure it out. also to add to the complications my work area is about a block down the road on the side of the street, which is the only place i can currently store it. also thank you in advance for any help/advice.

if none of the wiring is cut on your current car, i would just drop the thing in there.

Have you gotten anywhere with this yet? I would get a larger V6 (the 3.1 or 3.4) and drop that in and go. If you want a V8 you can then sell your V6 car and buy a V8 car that needs work.
If you are absolutely determined to put your sbc in there, just read these forums a little more. Then go to the classifieds and get a complete setup there. Don't forget you need the V8 trans as well, because the V6 trans that you have is not up to the task. Heck, I just swapped my V6 trans in my 88 bird to a V8 T5 from a Trans Am because it wasn't even up to the task of transmitting power from my stock 2.8!
Good luck!
