92 Bird 3.1 -> SBC motor mount issue
Hi,
Has anyone dealt with the following issue when swapping from a V6 to an SBC?
My crossmember looks similar to the one in this picture I found during a search.
I'm attempting to install the following V8 motor mounts pictured here,
http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm
I'm able to line the mount up with holes 11 and 12 as numbered in the picuture, however the mount is simply not long enough to reach hole 14. Am I missing the necessary hole in the cross-member? Or do I have the wrong mounts? (weird cause my wrecked 88 has the same mounts and the third hole is in the cross member).
I was simply going to line the new mounts up the existing holes at the top, ensure that the mount sits parallel to the center line of the cross member (since there is some slack w/o the third hole to locate the mount) bolt the mount on tight and drill the missing hole. Any advice in this respect?
Thanks

Looks like you got the wrong mount.Maybe Im wrong but there are several diferent mounts from v6 to v8.Ask the parts store for a couple more. They always refund my money when i`m wrong.IIRC the passenger side mount I used has an empty bolt hole toward the front of the engine bay.Almost like there is only two bolts in the top and one in the bottom.
I`ll have to look at mine again but it looks like I had bolts in 7,10 and 13.From what I remember.
