350 Engine question
I have a 70's 350 with all stock parts and was wondering with a new cam how large in terms of Lobe and Lift and Duration I could go without a loss in horsepower. If that makes any sense. Thanks guys.

Re: 350 Engine question
What heads do you have? The real question is how much lift can you get without breaking things.

Re: 350 Engine question
I'm not sure atm. Its not really for me and I was asked to help out a friend and this was the most knowledgeable place I knew to come to. He said he wanted to be able to put the largest cam in without losing HP so he would net gain, or thats what he told me. All the components are from the 350 to the best of my knowledge its from a Chevy 3/4 Ton Rear wheel drive. He's redone all the rings and port polished all the cylinders and everything so its basically renewed on the inside.

Re: 350 Engine question
You really need to know what heads it has to choose a cam. "70s 350" could mean just about anything, and usually nothing good. It doesn't take much of a cam before the heads can't keep up.

Ok thanks. I'll get that information and come back at some point. Thank you.
