engine knocking. whats the best thing i can do?

engine knocking. whats the best thing i can do?
well the engine started knocking yesterday. a pretty good knock to. does anybody know an estimate of how much it would cost to rebuild my current engine? IF i decide to rebuild it, what else should i buy for it? i gotta budget of about 1200.

With a $1200 budget and a knocking engine, it will be cheaper to just buy a new engine. Machine work can easily eat up the $1200.

old thread. i decided to just get one off my grandpa for cheap (100 bucks) until i can afford to buy a used 383 or LS1
