power steering question

Engine: TPI 350
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock axle
power steering question
I converted over from tpi to carb awhile ago. Now I am changing all of the accessories and I have a question about the power steering. Do you have to keep the super long hard line that runs along the radiator or can I take that out and use two short lines?
