Help with 305....
Help with 305....
Wats up I was wondering if instead of swapping out my 305 for a 350 could i build the 305 up to make about 300-385 hp? Its carborated as well. I mean I just thought maybe it would be a little bit easier to slowly build up my 305. I only want to get bout 300 hp outa it....

You could, if you really wanted to keep it a 305
without a doubt though somebody sooner or later will input probably verbatim "Price vs power you will be better off with the 350"
although it is true, its all about what YOU want though.

Originally carbureted, or converted to carburetor? What carb is on it now?
It isn't too hard to get a 305 to 300 HP - headers, 3" exhaust all the way back, intake manifold like a Performer or Performer RPM, Comp XE268, you're pretty much there (at least as measured the way the typical crate engine is rated).
