And this kid I have never even talked to jump in and said it will still be slow....And I was like what??? you have never even seen my car? And all he said was " 305.... it cant be nothing but slow!)
Here is my car and mods

flowmaster 80 series
afpr
no cat
sfc's ( new)
lca's ( new)
panhard bar ( new)
fuel pump ( new)
Nitrous 100-150 shot
I also have new rear tires, There not drag radials but they should hook better.
they are Federal 595 ss
Ok here is the race dont worry as soon as it goes down I will make sure its on tape.

I have a feeling this will be a loss but I wonder by how many??
Maybe I can stall the race till I get drag radials lol ...... I hope. Cause I think im gonna get walked.

Re: How bad will it be????
im thinking with a good driver the 01 will run like a 12.3 or 4. run from a roll if you can, to help take his gearing advantage away, run a 150 shot, spray as soon as possible and it wont be too bad the mph is there,
but you need to work on ur launches, he'll defin. walk u if hes any kind of a driver, itd be closer from a roll.
just my opinion

UPDATE The 4.10's will not be in the car when we race,
I found out today that from our local shop that he said installed the gears they said they have never heard of the kid or worked on the car.
When I asked him about it he just laughed and said yea im was just kidding but that is my next mod
so they are factory gears prob 3.42 I would guess

That car probably runs 12.9 at best. You got a pretty peppy 305 but uts probably not enough unless he messes up. I would approach anybody with a mid 13 second 305 and say anything to them negative.

Re: How bad will it be????
lol well when he said something he had no idea what I had just it was a 305.
I guess from the way it sounds I need to stay away.
I was wishing that after adding these parts it would be good.
lca
panhard
subframe
drag radials
150 shot
I was hoping I would stand a chance but maybe not.

Most of that stuff will help you from a stop, could get you the win if he spins bad enough.

If you run motor vs motor you should pick out a nice grave stone because you will get murdered. If you spray, and he runs mistake free, you also lose, albeit not as much. If you spray and he blows it (ie. spins or misses shift) you could take him in the 1320. I would race for laughs and nothing more because the odds are not in your favor and you would need to bank on human error to take the trophy in this one. Not something I would bet on.

Re: How bad will it be????
If you already caught him lying about the gears, he could be B.S-ing about the other mods too. most LS1 camaros around here with minor mods (CAI, Catbacks, programmer) are only running low-mid 13's with the stock tires. I would go with the 150 shot and ease it outta the hole until i matted the pedal and let the juice flow. Make sure your bottle is full, and nice and warm. It makes a BIG difference. If you got a pressure gauge on the bottle, warm it up until its about 900-950 PSI. I shaved .5 seconds in the 1/4 when i started warming up the bottle. Drop the tire pressure in your rears to about 20psi and don't do a huge burnout before you line up. Just spin them a bit to get the dust off em. Shave some weight if you can (spare, jack, 1/8 tank of 93, no fat-chicks, etc...) I would also suggest the ram-air mod i found here on thirdgen.org. Heres a link to the one i made from duct tape:

If you take him off the line i bet you will win. He will get excited and start spinning. Oh yeah, make sure your motor is nice and cool before you race. Put some ice bags on the plenum if possible. (take them off before you race)
Good luck... I believe in your 305!

Re: How bad will it be????
A stall converter would help immensely. I say spray within the first 60' and pray for traction and it will be very close.
