Cam for 400 sbc????
I'm currently having a 400 chevy rebuilt. I am going to have a hydraulic flat tappet cam installed. I'm looking to run mid 11's. The cars current setup runs a mid 12. This 406 will have Brodix 200IK heads and other mods in sig. So what hydraulic flat tappet cam do you guys like and think will give me mid 11's and approx. 375-400 RWHP... XE274 H?? XE284??? I'm looking to stay streetable as well....

what comp ratio?????
over 9.5 to 1 the xe274 for sure
i ran one in a vortec headed 355.....and it was a very streetable cam
i did have a 3000 stall though
i had 12 to 13 inches of manifold vacuum
you will have more with the added displacement
and if your runnin over 9.5 to 1 compression

I'm leaning towards the XE284h. I have heard this cam will still be streetable with a 406.. anyone know more about this combo???

yes id assume it would be better if you dont mind a choppy idle
and you have some compression
i would have picked the 284 for my 355 if i new better
