So when i got my car the owner before me dropped a new 350 crate with a holly 4 barrel carb with only 2xx miles on it. Pretty sure it is the stock 700r4 tranny. now it has about 3,000 to 4,000 miles on it (dont keep track) And every once in awhile when i go to hammer it it doesnt seem to respond and goes around 2,700 to 3,000 rpms. and then when it actually hammers it flys. But i been thinking of dropping a newer engine in the car. Unless theres anything that will make it better? Like a super charger or a nitrous. Or would a different tranny be a better choice? Im just asking for opinons
The engines i been looking at
-GM Vortec 6.0
-LT1

Exactly what kind of Holley is it?
Most likely you've got a lean condition. Adding a supercharger or nitrous to an already lean engine is piston blowtorch time.
An LSx or LTx swap to fix a lean condition is like moving to a new house because you don't want to empty the trash. Of course, an LSx or LTx would be nice to have. . .
