LT1 swap
LT1 swap
Hey guys. After lots of debating over trading my Camaro for a truck or swapping the motor blah blah blah, I've come to the final decision that I am going to buy a used LT1 for a good deal and scrap my V6. Now, me being only 17, i do not have the know how to change out the computers and what not, so I'm going to have it professionally done. Couple questions here:
Should i keep my original 700R4?
How much do you estimate it would cost if i handed them the motor and the car and told them to do it?
Should i get another tranny to go with the motor?
EDIT: Will this motor bolt right up? What kind of electrical changes need to be made to accomodate the swap?

Re: LT1 swap
dont waste your time.
an lt was half way between our engines and the ls.
buy the ls - forget the lt.
there will be parts all over the place for the ls.
the technology for the lt was out of date a year before it rolled off the line.
