92 RS Carbeurated 327 swap

I just recently purchased a 92 RS originaly came with a 3.1 V6. Bought it without an engine or transmission. I have a Haynes manual for it and I am pretty compitent in mechanics. The problem I am having is with the wiring. I don't know what plug went to what. I need to find the coil/dist. plug, alternator plug and all the wires that go to the starter. If someone could just tell me the style plug, how many wires go to each part and what colors they are it would be greatly appreciated. I am putting a Carb. 327 in the car. Also, there are what looks like two hydraulic lines in the engine compartment by the break booster/master cylinder assy. that run to the rear of the car and I cannot figure out what they are for and if I will need to connect them to anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

This will show at least the colors of some of the wires. http://www.team3rdgen.com/modules/3r.../1989_c100.gif You can either locate them in the connector, or just look for the wire color.

The lines you're talking about sound like the fuel supply and return lines.

Re: 92 RS Carbeurated 327 swap

Thanks for the help and I do not think the lines are fuel lines, those run right into the canaster on the pass side, these are on the drivers side and have high pressure hydraulic fittings on them.

Re: 92 RS Carbeurated 327 swap

Thank you so much for that diagram. I have a question about that though. The wires for the alternator, how many are there, what color are they, and where do the come from? Also, those lines look a little too stout to be fuel lines, and the fuel lines go right into the canister anyway. The lines I am seeing have hydraulic fittings on them, you may be right, but I have never seen fuel lines this size before.

The fuel lines do not run to the canister. That is the EVAP lines. The fuel lines will come in on the drivers side and be made of metal with rubber that looks like hydraulic hose, metal fittings.

Ok, so the evap line runs back to the fuel tank as a return line then? Thanks all for the help.
