Help, fuel pump doesn't work after engine swap
Help, fuel pump doesn't work after engine swap
Hi Guys, Sorry If I'm posting in the wrong place, but wasn't sure where to ask this question.
I did a v6 to v8 swap in an 85 camaro. The new v8 engine is using a carb and I used a donor harness from a 1986 tpi engine.
Everything appears to work fine, except the fuel pump. I have a new fuel pump and sending unit and a mallory fuel regulator.
When I turn on the ignition, I do not hear the pump in the tank. As far as I can tell, all the wires are connected properly, but I can't get the fuel pump to work.
There is also a tan/white and orange wire that according to gm's wiring diagram should go to a fuel pump switch. I can find anything to plug it into, so I don't know if i need another switch/sensor to plug into it. I have have a new oil pressure sensor installed as well.
Any ideas where I should check next? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Walt

try looking at the inner fender under the hood for two wires going into what looks like a sensor, theres a fuse in there, see if its good. thats the only thing i can think of. should be on the passenger side, under the hood.

Thanks for your help, I know the fuse you're talking about as I've seen it on other harnesses I have, but I don't see it on this harness.
The one connector that confuses me is located near the distributor, it's a tan/white and orange wire that according to gm's wiring diagram should go to a fuel pump switch.
I'll trace the harness again and any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
