Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock
HELPPPPPP
so ive been searching for about an hour and cant find anything that is exactly my problem..my speedo haha i did a 2.8 tpi to 305 tbi carb swap and i plugged the cable into the 700r4 tranny and as soon as i put the car in drive it goes all the way to 140 what is causing this i am completely lost and so is the mechanic helping me with this any ideas?

You must have the optional digital dash. This is an electronics problem, not a mechanical one.

so to fix that could i just get a new speedo? because it worked before i did the swap

Get the sensor out of the V6 transmission and put it into the V8 transmission.
