T5 swap (So Many Trouble)
hi, i'm trying to swap the transmission of my thirdgen, an i'm having troubles. first i'm not in the US and i can't find some parts. i have a borgwarner t5 WC (I think) the shaft is 26 spline. the bellhousing is another history and the flywheel is 11", what disc, pressure plate and release bearing do i need?. my other problem is the slave cylinder, i hardly found the WAGNER Part # CM116360 Master Cylinder but the WAGNER Part # CM126869 Slave not. can i use another one like WAGNER Part # CM126872?. modifying the bellhousing obvious... PLEASE HELPPPPPP. Thanks
The bellhousing you need is specific for the thirdgens, it's the only one that will work. You need to look for a bellhousing from an 84-92 Camaro or Firebird with the 5.0 V8 motor. This bellhousing also requires the smaller 10.5" clutch and 153 tooth flywheel. The 168 tooth 11" flywheel won't work with it. You can get a complete, used hydraulic clutch linkage setup on ebay really easy for cheap. I also see the correct bellhousings on there all the time too. So that would be my suggestion on where to locate the parts you're going to need. Thirdgen T5 parts come up on ebay all the time. Go to the tech articles section on this site. There's an article about swapping from an auto to a manual trans that has a complete list of the parts you're going to need. Print that list and start shopping on ebay! Just make sure the seller is willing to ship to Venezuela before bidding.
