Coolant Temp Gauge Not Working Before and After LS swap

Okay my Coolant gauge in the 85 z did not work before we ls swapped it, and it still does not. We have the 98 coolant temp sensor and the PCM has a good reading of the engine temp verified by HPTuners.

So theres got to be an issue with just the gauge, anyway to trouble shoot it by taking the cluster apart ( common issues? ) or a way to purchase a gauge by itself, couldn't seem to find any on the 'bay...

FWIW the gauge is pegged below zero, it never moves with the key cycle.

The pinned below zero is consistent with a broken wire in the circuit.

With the engine OFF, but the key in the RUN position, ground the sender wire, then look at the temp gage.

What does the gage do when that wire is grounded?

Happy Racing !
