will a 305 from an 82 z28 bolt up in a 90 rs
I just picked up a cheap 90 camaro rs with the tbi 305, the engine has a low end knock. I can get a carbed 305 out of an 82 z28 for really cheap and was wondering if i swapped on the tbi setup and intake if it would bolt right up?

Not quite.
The intake manifold bolt pattern is slightly different. You could put the '90 heads on the '82 block. Or, modify the bolt holes in the intake manifold so you can get the bolts in.
The flexplate will also be different, but if the one on the '82 engine is in good shape, you can keep it on the engine and it'll bolt up to the transmission torque converter.
Other than that, you should be able to transfer over all of the '90 stuff to the '82 engine.
