305-350 in alaska

i have an engine out of 78 fire bird. VO22OCHT it looks like a 1 piece rear main. will this fit up to a t5 in a 85 camaro? since the 305 in it is a two piece would i not be able to use it? could i use the same distributor thats in the 305 and would the exhaust bolt in or would i need to get some headers *plan two anyways and take the smog pumps out/egr imissions stuff* whitch would fit? my engines tired and blowing some blue smoke. what problems will i run into? what do i need to do/buy to make the project smoother than it would otherwise be and get the car on the road again? most of all is this engine a waste of time/ not compatable because of the year/main?

As long as it is a small block chevy, everything will swap out. If it is a one piece rear main and the old motor is a 2 piece, you will need a different flywheel.
