91 RS 305-383 carb tach wont work
I just did a conversion if anyone has questions about it. Now that is use a HEI distributer instead of the comp controled my tach operates strangely at about 5000 at idle. Anyone have any ideas. My car is now carbed and uses no comp.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
The computer controlled and non-computer controlled tach outputs are the same - just the coil trigger signal. Does the tach go down to zero when the ignition is off?

Yes it does go to zero and it goes down slightly when in gear also but not enough. I seen some adaptors on summit but wanted to see if there was a easy better way.

No it is just the HEI distributer from summit which i think is a malory distributer but no box. I followed the directions of a sticky i think and there they didnt have a tach problem.

Hmmm, I'm drawing a blank. You have the white wire connected to the "TACH" terminal, correct?
How does the tach act at higher RPMs?
